Major Events in 2014
Below are the 2014 sanctioned events and dates for the School, our Region and the World Tang Soo Do Association (WTSDA). A sanctioned event basically means these dates will not change and attendance to these events are needed for rank advancement. A sanctioned event is very important to make, based on your current rank. For new students and students under the rank of Black Belt, all of the sanctioned events below are optional but highly recommended for your rank advancement to Black Belt. Black Belts are looked at as leader of our school, Region and the WTSDA. So sanctioned events are a little different for Black Belt Leaders. For students who are Black Belts:
- All your school events are mandatory for you to attend, assist, conduct or help grade students for their rank advancement test.
- The yearly Regional Championship is mandatory to participate/compete in and be a judge at.
- At least one review and one Leadership clinic a year is mandatory to participate in and to teach at.
- The WTSDA Championship held every two years are mandatory to compete in.
The word “mandatory” for Black Belts means no penalties in rank advancement when you attend. Therefore you can test for your next rank on scheduled time! You can do it! Please mark your calendar.

* = Demo Team Competes and Performs. If you are on the demo team team, please try to attend this event. Also, the demo team now has it’s own facebook group page! TESTING: Region 2 Check List Requirements for Black Belts Reminder – if you pass your pretest – All students testing for Black Belt and Black Belts testing for higher rank have 15 days to hand in your paperwork and testing fees. Please don’t wait till the last minute to get your paperwork in to Master Williamson. Here is a quick check list:
- Essay – 4 Copies (Words required – Cho Dan 1000, E Dan 2,000, Sam Dan 3,000). Topics include projects that support your TSD growth, the WTSDA and your studio.
- Proof of Participation in each World Tournament since Black Belt or add one year of training.
- Proof of Attending NLT 1 Regional Clinic a year since Blue Belt or Add one year
- Three (3) Professional Picture Photos (thumb nail size, borders trim if using passport pictures ? no zerox copies).
- Signed Black Belt Test Application Form with Testing Fee
- Signed Black Belt membership Form (Cho Dan Bo Only) With Membership Fee
- Signed Brick Donation Form With Donation Check Fee
- Completed Black Belt Community Service Project turned in with pictures and results of project
